Arrive at Roadside Station Tarumizu Yuttarikan
Located along National Route 220, this healing roadside station is famous for its spectacular view and hot springs. The magnificent Sakurajima Island and Kinko Bay are right in front of the restaurant, and if you are lucky, you can observe the school of dolphins that frequently appear in Kinko Bay from the restaurant. The footbath, one of the largest in Japan, will soothe the fatigue of travelers. (The footbath is best to visit around noon, when it is filled with hot water.)

This route connects Kagoshima Port on the Satsuma Peninsula (west side of Kagoshima Prefecture) and Sakurajima Port (about 3.4 km) in about 15 minutes. 24-hour service is available (during the daytime, service is available every 20 minutes).
If the timing is right, a school of dolphins can be seen from the deck of the Sakurajima Ferry.

To get to the shrine, you will need to use a rope and climb steep stairs, but do your best for the sake of good fortune. The sea water is crystal clear, so you can take beautiful pictures if the weather is good. Since it is not possible to go to the rocky hill at high tide, please check the time of high tide before you go there.

This shrine is popular for enshrining the god of marriage, and it has a transparent torii gate made of glass, making it a great place to take pictures for SNS.
