Arrive at Nikobuchu
This crystal-clear waterfall basin in the upper reaches of the Niyodo River is one of the most famous spots in Japan, so much so that “Niyodo Blue” became a well-known expression to describe the blue color of the river.
It is a small pool with clear water flowing straight down, and despite being a waterfall basin, it is so clear that the bottom can be seen. Surrounded by trees, the waterfall basin at the bottom of the valley is faintly lit, and the color of the water changes from green to blue depending on the time of day.
