Arrive at Dogo Onsen
One of the three oldest hot springs in Japan, Dogo Onsen retains the atmosphere of an ancient time.
It is said that the baths were opened in the Jomon period, and that Prince Shotoku also visited the baths. Many famous people, such as Masaoka Shiki,
have been associated with the area. Modern hotels line the streets,
but the Dogo Onsen Main Building, which was depicted in Natsume Soseki’s “Botchan,” has been preserved in its original form.
